I found this statue at an antique shop in my town. No information was known about it. It seems to be made of resin. I bought it last year for my husband's office. I just love unusual police items like this. I have never seen another like it and don't know a thing about it! The statue weighs about 20lbs and is 39 1/2 inches tall from the base it stands on to the top of his hat. It is in the same style as the Coca Cola Crossing Guard, but I do not believe he has anything to do with Coca Cola. I do think he is missing a sign or a whistle. My husband works for a school district and I would love to add a School Crossing sign to it. The statue does have small holes or depressions under it's hands, as if a rods were used to hold it up or possibly where a sign might have rested. If you can see from the pictures, it looks as though it has yellowed due to age, but I do believe it has been antiqued with paint. There is some chipping of paint on his fingers, and I can see white paint. I still love it because it is so unusual. I have never been able to find any writing or marks on the statue. I would love to find information on it and have searched every topic I can think of with no luck.We have wondered if he is a prop from an amusment park or movie theater. It seems as if you look at it long enough, he looks like Dick VanDyke! I just love it but do wish I had more information!

This is a newly made items, in the past ten years.
That's ok, I still like it. Do you know anything else about it?
Yes, still VERY cool. They sold these in Menards, Lowes, and several outlet places. Probably was a $150.00 to $250.00 item when it came out.
Thanks so much! I have been wondering for over a year. Do you know if they came with a sign or maybe a solar lantern or something?
I'm not sure, but i don't think so.
Hey, Millimae: When your husband retires, or you run out of room, please let me know first: I collect Police Memorabilia for my 'flat foot' husband. :-)
