The Army and Navy Needle Book. There are more than 20 different versions made and exported from Germany, Czechoslovakia, Japan, and sometimes just marked 'Foreign'. These needle books were never sent to soldiers, but were marketed to the home crowd, never during a war but afterwards. They were usually produced by our former enemies. The front covers usually depicted ships most notably the Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts but were mostly un-named. This one depicts the un-named ships and was made in Germany (marked in red next to the 'k' in Book on the front is the logo NY Co. NY Trademark). It contained different sized packs of needles inside and the packs are marked also with the country of manufacture. These are steel, silver-eyed from Germany. This book is mostly complete.
