Out picking the other day and came across this vintage balsa wood model airplane, it has over a 4 1/2 foot wing span. I thought it would look great hanging in the man cave, especially with the red, white, and blue theme! I just hope it doesn't come crashing down into the car! Lol

Very cool , I like where you placed it. Your room(garage) is looking great.
Thank you eye4beauty and kerry10456, it's the only spot I have left in the garage to hang stuff is the ceiling. Lol
Nice find, a "Pitts Special" maybe?
Having anything that big suspended over something I loved might make me nervous. You know the old saying, "what goes up , must come down."
What do you have it suspended by?
I once put a nasty little ding in the hood of my pick-up getting some folding lawn chairs down from the rafters in my garage.
Bootson I'm not sure what kind of plane it is, I didn't find any manufacture marks on it. I have it suspended with 20 lb fishing line, should hold it.
Thanks everyone for the love!
Love it. The number on the wing AMA stands for American Modeler's Association.
It looks like it says SKYBOLT on the side. Is there a number after SKYBOLT?
Does it have an RC motor?
Thanks mustangtony for the information, There is not a number after skybolt and there was no motor in it when I bought it.
hea chevy, not to get off subject but , have u seen the "baby" Fire chief sign on e-bay from colacorner? Seems like the mfg. date is on the wrong side. What do u think?
Hey mikeie, from what I can tell, it looks like the real deal. The patina seems to be right, especially around the mounting holes. You are right though, the date on my fire chief pump plates are on the right hand side.
