Robinson and Sons, J.| Acme Stand Camera | 1885 | Field Camera | Half Plate |
Catalogue No. 0149.
J. Robinson and Sons, of Dublin and London, claimed to be the oldest photographic wholesaler and retailer in Ireland. They gave up the Dublin address in 1887, so this Dublin labelled camera must be before that. Known to be manufacturers as well as dealers, they advertised the Acme Stand Camera in the 1880s, so this is assumed to be one of them. H J Redding, inventor of the “Luzo” camera, was employed by them, leaving in 1896 to form his own firm.
