I have 3 baskets I would like to have information on.
These are baskets that I received from my parents. They told me they were from Northern California, Hoopa Valley (Hupa) Indian reservation.
My question is, can they be dated per these photos & do they appear to be from that tribe?
First, is a baby papoose basket.
From the top of the handle to the bottom of the basket is 31 inches.
The width across the center front is 12 inches.
The width around the curved back is 22-1/2 inches.
The handle is 12 inches long.
Thanks for looking and sharing,
Dave

Yep Hupa tribe. This is a really nice one too, I have seen many of these and usually there is damage of the weave due to use and age. I do see some damage at the top but it is minimal.
Thanks Tlynnie1942,
From your first response, I should date all 3 of these around the 1920-50 era?
Thanks for your help,
Dave
Yes, that would be a safe bet as to age. And you are very welcome.
Thanks vetraio50, miKKoChristmas11 & AR8Jason for the appreciation.
