I have 3 baskets I would like to have information on.
These are baskets that I received from my parents. They told me they were from Northern California, Hoopa Valley (Hupa) Indian reservation.
My question is, can they be dated per these photos & do they appear to be from that tribe?
Second, is a cooking basket, I was told. Appears the hot rocks put inside burned a hole in it.
It measures 34 inches in circumference.
It is 6-3/4 inches tall.
Top is 9-1/4 inches across.
Bottom is 8 inches across
Outer circle on base is 5-1/2 inches across
Inner circle is 4 inches across.
Thanks for looking and sharing,
Dave

Hi
Yes this does appear to be made by a member of the Hupa tribe. The weave and design are ones that they used or use. As to date, probably from between 1920-1950. Nice basket!
Thanks Tlynnie1942
