This is a beautiful quill box I just got, made by Mel Losh about 20 years ago. Mel is one of the best quill box artists in the world, his work is in museums and art galleries as well as private collections. He makes them in the way of Micmac and Ojibwa styles. This is Micmac as he used the star pattern here. It is about 4 and 5/8ths in diameter and almost 3 inches high. As you can see from the pictures, he always puts his trademark "lady bug" somewhere on his work. This one has it inside on the bottom half, along with his signature. I have been wanting to have one of his works for a very long time now and now I have! And, I am waiting for another one to get here that has his other style. That one has flowers and a couple lady bugs on it. I am so happy to have this finally in my collection. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks scandinavian_pieces, I think so too. I can't wait until I get the other one I am expecting. It has two lady bugs on the top. Will put up pics as soon as I get it.
