Most glass collectors experience serial love at first sight, but some times that love becomes permanent. So it was with this vase, for which I paid through the nose because, 20 years ago, it was "Loetz".
But it turned out to be a documented Kralik shape. Bright yellow glass with raised vivid red "candy" stripes (I'd call it maquetry but don't dare offend the pundits). 8" tall and 6" wide at the bottom. It has always been where I can look at it, for it's like a ray of sunshine. I have never seen another in this decor.

Dr. Al : I almost came to blows not long ago at an antiques show about one of these. The dealer who owned it had a big card in front of it which read RARE LOETZ VASE. I told him it as Kralik and he looked at me like I had stabbed him in the back.
Once you are retired, you become Mr. Al. Was it identical to this one, or a different shape?
Hi - I found a piece of this in Australia - it is a rose bowl 4" tall by 5" widest in a freeform - three dimples around the sides and a tri pulled fire polished top. Ground and polished pontil and the red stripes spiral all the way to the center of the pontil. Exact same glass and colors as yours just a different shape - I love this pattern - I have seen a console bowl in this same pattern and colors, but let it get away.
I love it so much I have it on permanent exhibition right where I can see it from my computer! Lane, send me a photo to alfavil@aol.com AND ALSO POST IT!
Hi Alfredo - I have no camera but will get a friend to come over and take pictures and email them to me - you may have to be patient!! Thanks - Lane
p.s - you know your vase is posted on "kralik-glass.com", right? It's the only example they have of the pattern, I should send them mine when I get them.
I am no longer involved with that website.
Hi Al - I emailed you the photos - hope you like them!! Lane
