Love my Nanny and Grampy on the bench..any info???

    I love my "Nanny & Grampy" on the bench, but have no information on them. They came out of my grandmothers house. They are painted iron (metal). As you can see from the photos, they just sit on the bench. They sit on the window sill in our bathroom and we have fun moving them around . Faces are pretty detailed
    Does anyone know anything about them? Could they have belonged with a doll house or just something to put on a shelf.
    Age/value?

      my guess is they were toys from before when plastic came to be. or maybe they were meant for decoration on a model train set? Purely speculation though. Canadian pickers has a good site, and they are always picking old iron toys... might be worth checking out.

      Your figures were made by Barclay and they probably date from the 1930's. They would be accessories for a train set and were hand painted. I have attached a few links for you. The first is an Ebay listing that shows Grampy on your bench:

      Thanks for all the info. I don't think she ever had a train set, but a nephew did...I treaure them and think they are fun to have.
