I bought this clock years ago. Face says "Tillery's" improved Little Janitor pat. Nov 9th 1915 Pat Feb 6th 1917 made in USA. Theres a slot in back, I think it is a bank but the bottom is missing. size is 7" x 6"

i totally understand where your coming from timeless5 :) you have some very beautiful clocks i know i dont have a alot of clocks posted on here ,i do know when i see a great clock .
Hi Misty. I looked this up and discovered that these clocks were designed to be used by Janitors in their daily tasks of building maintenance. .
They were basically an alarm that could be attached temporarily or permanently to a mechanism that needed to be "released" at a predetermined time. They could be used to turn light circuits on or off; release the damper or draft mechanisms of a furnace, etc...
The slot you mentioned may have been used to help firmly attach the clock to some mechanism.
