This was a Christmas gift a few years back - a vintage wool blanket made by the Canadian Hudson's Bay Company in the traditional 4-striped pattern. A month or so later, I found a JC Penney knockoff at a thrift store for 2 dollars, though the color isn't as nice as the real deal. They typically have a detailed HBC tag, though mine fell off at some point...

These wool blankets were traditionally traded in the Americas (native people wanted the warm material which repelled water/was easy to sew and Europeans wanted everything else the locals had). The manufacturers used a "point" marking system so the blankets wouldn't need to be unfolded in order to identify size: the 4 black lines on this blanket show that it is the double bed size (typically point sizes range from 1 - 6, increasing by a half point).
