One of a few string/yarn baskets I have, made by the Penobscot Tribe. It is made of Split Ash and twisted Sweet Grass. Parts have been dyed a blue/green but the color is not so vibrant on the outside. Really nice. These were made for the tourist trade mostly, to use to store yarn and/or string. The lid has a hole in the top so the string could be pulled through.
