This is my oldest Quill Box, around 1880 to 1900. It was made in Canada and the collector I bought it from said Micmac tribe but I am not sure. This one was not made for the tourist trade but for use by the person who made it. It is very simple, but I like it for that. It is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter by 2 3/4 in height. I have not seen one like this anywhere else, but the boxes made for use were either used until they broke and another one made in it's place or they are still in the family from which they were made. I am happy to have this one in my private collection.
