Another couple items I won at the 'Brackley Dene contents auction', the catalogue from the auction I posted a few weeks ago.
These two Vaseline glass bowls have to be the most gorgeous pieces of glass I have, there was a third piece a large dish in the same pattern, but it got broken when something fell on it, I wept like a baby when it happen, I loved it so much. The metal stand actual came with that dish.
All I know about them is that they are very old and have been told that they are possibly by James Powell and Sons or john Walsh Walsh.
Frustratingly! I have searched under both these names and haven't seen anything similar to them.
Thank you for looking.....:-)

If it was a Whitefriars dish with a metal stand, I hate to say this but you just lost a small fortune as they are extremely rare and I have only ever seen the metal stands in books and museums and I started collecting it about 17 years ago. Your stand does look like a Whitefriars one and it is worth asking the Museum of London if they think it is for a Whitefriars dish. I am unsure of your 2 bowls though they don't look right for Whitefriars and are not in my books.
Thank you the dish was the same pattern as these two, very fine and a pattern I have never found, but it certainly gives me a direction to go in... thank you once again lovedecaters.....:-)
How did I miss these. I love the old opalescent glass myself. It is one of my favorites although since I have started getting into the Bohemian glass I have moved away from the opalescent stuff. Thanks for reminding me that I still love the look so much myself.
