One of the interesting paper items that I collect, are early Coca-Cola employee magazines such as Red Barrel magazines, Refresher magazines and The Coca-Cola Bottler magazines.
These magazines were published for employees only and contain a wealth of information pertaining to The Coca-Cola Company. There's articles and stories on different bottling plants throughout the world, they contain unique photos of employee-related events. They highlight new advertising signs and materials....just full of interesting tidbits for dating items and historical facts of the history of the company.
And another great aspect of these magazines are the unique ads...that are geared toward the bottling plants and employees; ads that average consumer wouldn't normally see. Ads for trucks, wooden cases, bottles, caps, cups, bottling machines, uniforms and of course, the latest vending machines, coolers and cartons.
The last photo is for Trevor and Tommy. Note that this this 6-bottle Veneer basket came out in 1945 and cost just 6¢! And...there were over 4 million produced. So there's a good chance more are out there. :)
