This sign is from PALCO (Pacific Lumber Company) in Humboldt County, Scotia, CA. It was the largest redwood sawmill in the world and it's now been bought out by a different company & has downsized to almost nothing. This sign is an advertisement made from pressed metal with enamel paint, so all the letters are raised. It advertises PALCO wool, which was one of the first home insulations. It was made from shredded redwood bark. It's a very colorful sign and it's in like new condition. I used to work in the woods for the company, and I bought this sign from a friend. He got it from an old-timer he knew who worked at the lumber mill.
