These were a given to me out of a large bag of costume jewelry my boss and I were sorting through; thought they were super cute and wanted them! The hooks are sterling silver, marked with 925 on the flattened portion on the 'hooped' portion of the hook.
Really interesting patina on the actual jesters; they look like little silver guys, but under a 30x loop there was a crack on the back of the head on one, and it looks like it was a very pale clay, covered in a metallic finish. The hook silver and jester metal aged similarly, I've never heard of silver plated clay, or whatever these are made of.
Would really appreciate any ideas on where these came from? I'm sure I've seen these little 2 part 'dancing' characters before, when were they popular?
