The closest I've been able to find is a 1937 Plymouth 4-door sedan. The line coming off the front fender isn't quite right though.
Its a 37, but its a chevy not a plymouth.
I see. Are there any differences besides that line on the side? Ive seen black and white pictures of both and they look almost identical.
OK, here's a few more pointers. 1. plymouths have a one piece windshield, chevys don't. 2. 37 plymouths have headlights on the fenders, chevys lights are on the side, next to the grill. 3. 37 plymouths have chrome strips on the sides of the hood, chevys don't. Believe me, your grandfathers car is a 37 chevy. Phil
Yep 1937 Chevrolet for sure
Had to add my 2 cents, It's a 1937 Chevrolet Master De Luxe 4 door touring Sedan. This would have powered by a 216 cubic inch overhead valve, babette(can't spell) 6 cylinder motor.
It looks just like the one that I had, even the same color, only mine was a standard. which meant leaf springs. It leaked oil out of the rear main,so my remedy worked. I took a two gallon can,and cut one side out of it. I drilled a hole in each corner near the top,and wired it under the engine, making sure that the cap was at the lower part of the can..when it was full I simply unscrewed the cap,and pored it back at the top.
love the old photo and love the car and the clothes:) very cool:)
