This is a fine piece! Well...WAS a fine piece.
Will & Finck were based in San Francisco during the Gold Rush Era. They were most famous for making fine quality knives. The quality and craftsmanship of their pieces stood the test of time, hence their collectivity today.
They also happen to produce a few corkscrews! They are simply beautiful too! The handles are often found being made of Elephant Ivory or Walrus Ivory and even some wood handles. Sometimes they are carved, and some are more simple like this one.
This is made of Elephant Ivory. It has a square block handle with the corners faceted. It features a blade and a brush. The faceted shank leads to the bladed helix.
The shank is marked "Will & Finck" while the blade is marked "Will & Finck S.F. CAL".
I had this piece for a little while and decided to sell it. Now I kinda wish I didn't. If you've got one, or know someone who does, I'd be interested in making a deal!
Cheers
