thanks craig, the glass is rounded completely and does require the stand.. i like the unusual ones :)
6 3/4" tall in stand and 2"opening
Just curious - have you tried it as a lampshade?
It is a lampshade! I ought to know ,since I own several of them. A nifty idea. By the way, on the basis of Ruckl catalogs, I would attribute it to this company.
thanks nicole and alfredo, i have not tried to use it as a lampshade it has a small 2"opening at rim... alfredo, are you suggesting that it was not meant for this stand to hold it? because the stand in my opinion was made for this particular vessel. its a perfect fit!! also there are no signs on the rim of it ever being used as such.. thanks so much for your attribution to ruckl.
Ok. I need the size of the mouth/fitter. Is it by any chance 3" or $2.5"? have just found my round metal mount and placed a Loetz Yellow Shaum. Awesome!
hi alfredo, i bet a loetz yellow shaum would look awesome on anything!!.. i would love to se it :)... i stated above it has a 2" opening, so from edge to edge of rim is 2 1/8"
Ok. Be curious. Try it on a 2.5" lamp base! Photos of the Schaum soon to be posted.
Ok.. i think i may have something i can try it on as soon as i figure out where i have it stashed :) it would be alot better to look at i guess.. i cant help but think that the two pieces were made for each other. the fit is absolutely perfect. the base stand is designed to absolutely hugg the vessel, and i mean perfecly.
Do you realize you did not give dimensions for either the frame or the vase/shade?
sorry i didnt realize.. the base stand is 5 1/2" wide and 3 3/4" tall ....the globe/vase is 6" tall and just under 5 1/2" wide.. i found the lamp base faster than i thought i would.... wait to you see what ive done... :)
here it is im all smailes :)
