      these are typically marketed as wedding bowls. The pedestal foot is positioned on top of the lid and a piece of wedding cake is presented placed in the 'box'. Yours was made my Jeannette Glass. The color is applied so be careful when cleaning. From your photos the applied coloration appears to be what Jeannette called amberina; tho' it is not true amberina glass.
