One of my favourite ever Scottish Agate Brooches. This large piece measured nearly 3" inches long.
Each Section of the Silver Brooch is inlayed with Scottish Montrose Agate, my personal favourite with the beautiful Dove Grey and soft blue tones.
All you collectors will know Queen Victoria Started the rage for Scottish Agate Jewelry with her love of the Scottish Highlands, often giving Scottish Agate Jewelry as Wedding Gifts to members of her court and close family.
This is a wonderful rare example featured in several books on the genre. The Brooch is a Fern leaf another Favourite Victorian Motif as in the language of Flowers Fern meant Fascination and Magic.
I hope you enjoy taking a look.

Yes it sure is ; ) Glad you like it!
You have some wonderful pieces. I still drool over that Egyptian set. Where do you find your treasures? Do you wear them?
Life is a constant treasure hunt I just never give up everywhere and anywhere I am always on the look out for antique jewelry!! Some things I fall in love with and have to keep for ever, some pieces I love but they just have to be sacrificed to buy the bread, cheese and wine ; )
Hahaha! I agree completely and must tell you that I am going to use that expression in the future!
Glad to have met a kindred spirit ; ) Keep dropping by.
