I bought this a few months ago and think it's really beautiful. I was told that it's not an old piece, and i can believe this because the wear on it is very even over the entire piece - no spots where it was rubbed or wore faster. I've never found another one like it, but i have seen other iron arhat statues w/ the same pattern on the base - sort of a woven reed design. i'd love to know more about it.
