A French 3 pc Art Deco Figural Clock in the zigzag moderne’ 1920s style the clock features a vignette of two playful and puppies tethered to a fence probably barking at the clock. The clock has beautiful multi-colored veined marble with a soft creamy light tan background, embellished with cut and beveled black marble or onyx pieces for decoration on both clock and garnitures. The clock is in Good used condition. The marble around the clock winding arbor has been enlarged probably due to years of careless banging with the key when winding. One of the Garnitures has a base crack repair, both the clock and garnitures have fleabites around the edges acquired over the years. Overall it’s a great set of art moderne’ and commands attention still after all these years. The clock movement was made by MARTI is marked Made in France, and stamped also 8 Jours (8 days) movement. Presently clock is not working. The clock Measures 9.5 high x 20" wide x 5.5" deep and each Garniture measures 5" high x 7" wide x 2" deep. The set weighs 30 lbs., 24 lbs. for the clock and 6 lbs. for the garnitures.
Another case of when I saw, I knew I would own it. While most of these figural clocks feature, women, men, lepards, birds, etc. this one had puppies busily barking at the clock. The puppies are painted grey, and the fences have a brown wash on them
