I know it a frog made by south bend! I have been collecting lures for some time now, but haven't seen this anywhere. Any ideals on the age, and or name would be great! Thanks you.

can you tell me what it says on the front spinner? Does it have a rear spinner? Glass eyes? Is it wood or plastic?

Thank you for your interest! The spinner has south bend across it. The body is wood and the eyes are glass. It has a tail on its back side, looks like a piece of small twine or rope. All looks original to me.

What you have is a Pflueger Kent Floater. That has the wrong propeller should Pflueger on it. rivertrout

So then it should have another spinner and a third treble hook on its tail end?

end tail prop. with the hook. rivertrout

      Great info! Thank you friend.

The original Pflueger Kent Floater Frog was made around 1905 and is very hard to find and worth quite a bit of money in excellent condition. A remake of this classic lure was done in 1999. I believe River trout is correct. Someone replaced the front spinner with a south bend spinner which was very similar and it's missing it's tail spinner and hook. Still a nice old lure. The remake that was done in 1999 was made by Hots with permission from Shakespeare, who owns Pflueger now. I believe this is an original though. Rivertrout. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

jjcarteroo, absolutely correct. I recommend to all beginner collectors to go to lure shows as well as nflcc shows etc. The more shows you go to you can begin to tell authentic antique wood painted lures from the new replica painted lures. You can actually smell the new paint on the replicas and understand how gazing and age lines are formed. Plus you can identify all paint schemes from Heddon to Pflu, southbend, creekchub, shakespeare, etc. Hope this helps & have fun..rivertrout
