Found these in great-grandpa's old office when cleaning stuff out. He used to promote guy and gal wrestling and boxing in the Zanesville, Columbus, Ohio area. He was a bit of a gansta in his day! These wrestlers came from all over the US and the world. I have many vintage original 8 x 10 glossy promo photos. I have a 1944 program promoting a famous boxer Joe Louis with gramps as the promoter. I have asked everyone what this great collection could be worth but no one can tell me. The only wrestlers I have found on the internet that date back this far are not from this country and all seem to be male. These are the greatest collection of pictures I have ever seen. Can anyone help determining the value for insurance purposes?
You might wanna try researching Mildred Burke, Penny Banner, The Fabulous Mullah, Ida Mae Martinez, Mae Young, Cora Combs, Betty Niccoli, Donna Christanello. Theyre all the top female wrestlers from the day, you should be able to find plenty of pictures of them as theyre all in the Professional Wrestlers Hall of Fame.
