Acme was a San Francisco beer that was fairly popular on the West Coast until it died in the late 70's. It has since been resurrected by the North Coast Brewing company, probably tasting nothing like the original but still maintaining the name and logo.
I bought this can on Ebay a few years ago. It's in fairly rough shape but the colors are good. It's a flat-top can that dates from the mid to late 30's. I also have the Acme Keglet opener, which I found at an estate sale in Hollywood many years ago.
In my youth I had a massive beer can collection, which I miss to this day. My parents sold it at a yard sale while I was in college. I understand the entire collection was bought at once, by the same buyer. I still give my parents grief over that, naturally.
