I found the stapler in a pile of old office supplies at work about six years ago. It was destined for the donation center. I took a look at my ugly plastic stapler and traded immediately. It works like a charm. It looks older than it really is due to the design. I remember my grade school teachers had the same (or similar) model so I'd guess they were still in production in the 1970's. The two boxes of unused Swingline staples are definitely older. I picked these up at an estate sale about 10 years ago, simply because I couldn't pass them by. I use the stapler at work, and the staples will stay unused.

I thought I was the only one who got attached to such things. I still use two Bates hand grip 88P staplers that I got over 40 years ago. They are all metal. The new model that replaced these is plastic and flimsy.

      Thanks for sharing yours.

When it comes to things like this, older often is better. I've never actually seen the Bates hand grip before. That's wild!

Tim: the Swingline 747 stapler was a very popular one because it done the job

I love the old Swinglines. They work so well and have quite the heft to them. Thanks for sharing.
