I can't believe the things we are digging out of boxes packed long ago. These badges are way out dated. Especially the second one from the left in the bottom row. It is a C.G. Braxmar badge.

Good morning, sir. Oh, I think that they're just beautiful, and the fact that you find them a bit 'outdated' only makes them more interesting. Did you find these during your travels? Thank you for posting these. miKKo

Thanks for the loves scandinavian & mikko. Actually mikko we are opening old boxes that were passed along from relatives at the moment. They have been stored since the late 70's. We found more badges after this picture was taken. We still have to finish unpacking an old Lane cedar hope chest but only had one key for it and it is somewhere in the pile of stuff hiding.

Neat old badges. The Braxmar badge would be circa 1940's. If these are family heirlooms or named some research might be very interesting for you. One can find a lot of badges on ebay. Obsolete badges are ok there but occasionally crooked buyers will falsely report a badge to ebay as being in violation of ebay rules and ebay pulls the listing in a knee jerk reaction. Then the crook contacts the seller and offers to buy the badge without having to bid competitively for it. It is a case of seller beware.

Thanks for the input militarist. We gave up on eBay quite some time ago. I use it for identification sometimes but stopped selling and buying and certainly don't use the site as a price guide. If we plan to sell something, we research it and then go to a collector's site so we can target a specific audience.

Finding these reminded me that my old badge from the military is around here somewhere. They used to issue us badges when we were working investigations and not able to wear a uniform.
