For Amber who has watched my strange hair . This is the days of Flower children and wall paper :-) I didn't have my headband on or I was set to go to woodstock :-) A tie dye shirt and jeans lol . I remembered this one when I saw recent posts of those horse's photo's with tails to ground and manes on ground .
I was a RN on here and worked with Nam vets still . They dressed funky so I did too . I worked in Psychiatric care at this time . Was a hard time to see the guys coming back with serious drug problems and heroin addiction . Not to say all the Nam guys did it but this was a draft War and many were not cut out for what they would see . It left terrible affects on them and they used drugs in Nam to ease the trauma they saw . I do believe the drug crisis in USA started with Nam . That is only my opinion but we hardly ever heard of heroin or opiates till then . To this day I remember so many of their faces and the pain of what was a war they did not want to go to and were not supported when they got home . I love them all for serving our country

Priceless! Brilliant! I laughed till I cried. Thank you sweet Mani, it's perfect in every way.
I will just keep you guessing Amber what is next , In this one just tie me up with the horses for the circus exhibit :-)
How did you not keep sitting on your hair?
I put it on top of my head or pushed it aside to sit :-) I had to wear it up at work as a nurse during day .
This is great Manikin. Better than the circus pony - Legendary. You could have donated your locks and made on awesome wig! p.s Loving the curtains contrasting with the wallpaper!!
Good golly, I thought you were about 10 in this picture! Not old enough to be a nurse.
They'll be ga ga at the go go ...... Give me a head with hair!
Did you ever cut it, Mani, or have I missed that part?
Thank you Amber :-) I was a very young nurse . Well thank you for your compassion and dedication dear Mani.
Thank you vetraio50 ! :-) Glad to see you
LOL Flowerrose :-) I hate to say it but I will confess I never cut it off so when I need a wig I have some hair to make one :-) Don't you love the oh so 70's curtains and wallpaper . And we thought it looked good . I wonder why we didn't get dizzy from all the yellow flowers .
wow you never cut it!! that's incredible!!!!!!
Is that Guinness Book of Records material?
No I think the horse wins by a tail :-) Flowerrose lol
Thank you mustang :-)
Nice picture young lady!
Michael
Manikin, I love you hair!
How did I miss this yesterday?
What a cutie, you where a blessing to those returning vets I'm sure. I'm sure your humour, compassion & kindness must have helped many of them.
Horse? No, no, no...Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair! :)
I think I my have dated you..lol.. How long is your hair now? My daughter's 5th grade teacher had hair she could walk on. I think it's beautiful...but a lot of work!!
LOL toolate you better post a photo of you I can see you and if we dated:-)
Thank you Bruce . I thought it looked like the horse tails but Rapunzel is better but not sure I would want to be locked up in a tower and if toolate came to get me for a date I hope my hair was long enough to be rescued :-)
Thank you mrmaj :-)
Wow! Some whig maker would have been real happy to get that when you cut it off.
Thanks Militarist . But I might need it too :-) This was doing time I was still working as a Nurse for Nam . I was transferred to a hospital for Psychiatric care of returning soldiers .
I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like but it sounds like it was enough to make you want to pull your own hair out. In any event I salute you for your service.
Wow. People think my hair is long, and you've got a good two feet on me. I don't think I could afford that much conditioner!
I actually got back more from the guys than I ever could ever give Militarist . I learned about the value of life and survival . Thank you for nice comments and I would not change my Vietnam time I wish it never happened but again I loved every guy ever took care and they always treated me good .
Thanks Lisa :-) Helps to have a friend that works in sales of hair products :-)
Thank you packrat !!!!!
You are most welcome.
I remember those times well. Where did the time go?
It was gone it what seems like a blink of the eye packrat :-(
Thank you AR(Kevin) I won't tell when I cut mine ok :-) Thanks for stopping always happy to see you . Did your wife grow it back for you ? :-)
Kevin I can relate to your girls :-) I had a boy pulling my ponytail all the time in 3rd grade who sat behind me . One day I had enough and got up and punched him square in the mouth and knocked out his front tooth . His name was Danny A red headed kid I can still see him anyway I got sent home and he went to a dentist . he never pulled my hair again . I didn't know about the family jewel place yet as I had no brothers and didn't know about that yet but I could pack a pretty good right blow . You were right in telling the girls about boys liking to pull hair . I think now it was because they liked you :-) Gray hair is beautiful . I am not grey and may never be as genetics are in my favor to not get grey . But my sister is and it beautiful on her as I am sure your wife's hair is . I was a Navy brat remember and my Dad was in a few scuffles that I saw so I learned about the punch and I also lived in Navy land San Diego . Oh I just remembered Danny boy the hair puller is on one of my posts :-) I have to see if his tooth is still in when photo's were taken .
Manikin, you're awesome! Thank you for taking care of American Vets who needed it most!
Kevin, you kind of remind me of the movie "Witness", where Harrison Ford gets a little out of Amish character right after he hears "“Hey watch it Frank, he’s gonna hit you with his bible.” LOL! Sounds like you did some smiting of bullies in your time. Good for you.
Thank you Bellin !
Bruce it was my honor to care for the Vietnam troops . As I said I loved them all
Thank you for the kind words
Manikin, I am speechless ! Your hair was awesome !!!! I can't imagine how much time you spent on it. It was time well spent because it was beautiful, ( and I am sure it still is! ). Talk to you later, TG

Wow thanks Vetraio50 for letting me know . It shows that the good people of CW do support all our Vietnam soldiers . Hats off to them it was long overdo . Hey I made a statement that rings true my long hair can signify how long overdo the story of Nam has been talked about more . I love love your glassware . I went to garage today to look at some things left over from when we had antique mall and what did I do unpacked one box and broke the first piece of glassware in it :-( I am just afraid of doing just that with all your beautiful pieces do you ever have any oh no I broke it moments ? Thanks again !
Don't remind me! There was the Berlage Ovata vase that went missing when I moved home ten years back ...... a thousand tears back too. Collateral damage! It comes from being tired and being in a hurry. Festina lente!
WOW!! wonna donate some of that? Mines gettin alittle thin on top!
Gee Mikie I was thinking I might need it myself but maybe I could spare a bit for you ? Is Auburn a good color for you :-) Thanks for coming by always enjoy seeing you :-)
Vet I hope I didn't bring back a memory you wanted to forget :-( I would have been sick about it too . Lucky the one I broke today was a fairly inexpensive fenton, nothing as fantastic as your Berlage Ovata vase . If your at the Opera House please say Hi to my good friend Lynda will you :-) Do you ever go there ?
I do go down every once in a while tho my friend Yvonne works there as I mentioned. Recently she took me around behind stage doors on a tour of the bowels of the place. What I intend to do is a photo with the tee shirt in the area either on the ferry or from the bridge. Waiting for the right moment!

Love it, reminds me of my wife before I met her, those were the days.
I wish she had never cut it, she did get many compliments on her hair.
