Im Robert Ruiz, Owner of Melrose Vintage located in sunny SoCal and I am a professional Vintage Buyer. I eat live and breath vintage, it comes out of my pores and I must say I do have a nose for finding it in the strangest places. Call it intuition, call it destiny or a very well tuned olfactory nerve but I can spot things people are blind to.

The Story-
Another early morning while training a new grader for clothing buying, hours later and tons of clothes after there we are in a loaded truck and I decide to go visit a friend of mines yard close to where my buy was so I can pickup a gift for a buddy of mine for Christmas. As I arrive in the parking lot I see two redcaps in the distance with Her Majesties Royal Crown. I had a good idea what it was and I knew I had to have it. Walked in and the owner “Steve” greets me with a warm welcome and we chit chat about the new décor he has and I was antsy to go for the kill on what was in the yard. He asks what brings you here, I tell him British Phone Booths, he says how do you know about that? Turns out they where scrapped and delivered to him on accident and they where a pain for him to deal with and wanted them out. We go back and forth on the price and I get a deal buy all 6 of them….. That was before I inspected them to realize they weigh a ton each (no joke). Not deterred, I knew they where a deal so I ask him if I could leave them in the yard because I knew they couldn’t be transported by me and he freights things all the time, no problem he says. So Today I own 6 British Phone Booths and am happy to, put a crew to clean, paint and detail …. Wish me luck !!
