I just thought I would post several more photographs I took yesterday of some more houses around here. I am not sure what the large wheels are, but my guess would be counter weights for a large steam engine. Notice how they are chained to the tree? Do they really think somebody is going to steal 2500 lb. wheels?

i just luv the metal roofs!! id bet they will be there until a twister (or some local code enforcement) brings them down!
We have no twisters here and no building codes either.
I love the log home with the corrugated roof, & would love to know what kind of an engine those fly wheels came off of.
Thank you very much for the kind words BELLIN68 & walksoftly. I would like to know also, they are monster wheels.
I wonder if that was a stationary engine from a mine?
It could very well be, those mines had some monster machinery, water pumpers, etc.
