    Hi serafin,

I've looked at your collection. Your grandmother left you some very beautiful items and this clock is no exception.

I don't recognize this clock, case, dial, or hands. Perhaps another collector here will immediately do so.

If not, please provide the following and we'll see if we can come up with something for you:

Any and all information printed, stamped or labeled on the dial, movement, case and pendulum. This includes names, trademarks, serial/model/patent numbers and dates.

Measurements of the dial and case. Please take measurements at the longest, widest, and deepest points only.

Well lit photos of the entire case, with close-ups of the dial, movement and any distinctive decorative feature(s) or labels. Is the "TH" a family monogram or was it original to the clock? Any provenance information regarding how and when the clock came into the possession of your family could be helpful..

This information still may not lead to a definitive model or date but if you take the time to provide it, I'll give it a shot! :)

    Hi serafin,

Thank you. That can help but it is nothing definitive.

This pendulum suggests a German clock but that's not necessarily the case. The R and A stand for "Retard" and "Advance". Turning the rating nut (at the bottom of the weight) clockwise, as you are looking up at it from below, will raise the pendulum, and make the clock run faster (Advance). Turning it counter-clockwise will lower the pendulum and make it run slower (Retard). It is a commonly found pendulum bob, used by many manufacturers worldwide.

We will still need you to look for any information on the clock's movement or case.

    Where did your grandmother live?

Thank you serafin. We'll keep working at it. The more we know, the better our chances. There's always the possibility that another collector will see your active posting and immediately recognize it. The "TH" enclosed in what appears to be an eight-point star is so prominent and distinctive that it has to mean something useful to us.

I believe this lovely clock is german, probably by the German maker Junghans, (because of the paper on the back). The pendulum, however, was used on german clocks but if any of you are wondering it is actually of French origin, as the letters on the enamel are A-R, which means Avance-Retard, (Fast-Slow). Do you have the key for it? Lovely.

Thankyou ticktocktime, yes i have the key.but has no marks.
