I usually don't like metal on glass. However on this piece it doesn't seem to distract from the glass. Actually it's kind of elegant.
I really don't know if you call this vase Empire or Texas. I'll let one of you who knows better than I to decide. THANKS.

GARBAGE PILE ???
i meant it would look good even if it were displayed in front of a garbage pile...another words, it's so beautiful!!..sorry didnt mean for it to be an insult or offensive and i apologize if it did so.. Gary
referring to you retaking the photo..
But is it "Uranhaltiges"? ( uranium glass )
Loetz.com refers to three variations of Texas: Boulé-Boulé , Empire, and Gloria.
But this one is not one of the variants, is it?
(At the Passau Museum site and on the net they mention: Dekor Texas mit Empire.
I looked on the net but I've not found "Texas mit Boulé-Boulé" or "Texas mit Gloria". They seem to be known as "Boulé-Boulé" and "Gloria".)
plain ol texas.
not a variant just Texas.
Good ol' Texas!
Gary : my brain works slowly ! I now know what you meant. Thanks, Frank
THANKS ALL.......SO WE'LL CALL IT TEXAS. I LOVE THE STATE OF TEXAS ANYWAY. I WAS IN DALLAS IN 1984 FOR THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION AND MET SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE. HOW COULD I FORGET THE INN AT TURTLE CREEK !!!
