I bought this in 2001 from a guy in Florida. He had built this prototype out of molded plastic and presented it to The Coca-Cola Company for home use. His concept was to produce these in mass quantity (around $100 each) so consumers could have their own "vintage-style" Coca-Cola dispenser. You would simply fill the dispenser with Coke and crushed ice and then dispense in a glass.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) he never got it approved. I think it was a cost factor. Whatever the reason, I bought his only prototype plus all of the corresponding letters to the manufacturer and Coca-Cola's merchandising dept.
It has been sitting on our Coke bar since.
