This is a U.S. Bicentennial era pendant issued by Lillian Vernon. It is on a 30" chain, is 1 3/8" in diameter and is made of solid brass. The design is an exact replica of the "Fugio" Continental Dollar authorized in 1776 but never issued. The design was used on the Fugio dime of 1787. The design, with its blunt "Mind Your Business" motto was supposedly suggested by Benjamin Franklin. The reverse depicts a ring of 13 circles with the names of the original 13 states engraved and the motto "We Are One" and American Congress.
