My grandmother was born in Germany and the family owned a pub. She used to deliver buckets of beer as a kid. This is one of the steins that was her's or in her family. I would love to know more about this stein. All my family members have passed and I am 67. I would like to pass the information to my kids and grand kids. Thanks!

This is probably a J W Remy stein (mold 1044) circa 1900, but you are missing the lid. The text is: “Bier und frohes Lied macht nie Lebensmüd.” (Beer and a happy song never let life become tiresome.) Perkeo (lid figurine) was an 18th-century dwarf who served as both court jester and keeper of the royal wine keg in Heidelberg. Despite his size, he was reportedly quite a prodigious drinker and, according to legend, his death came about when he mistakenly drank a glass of water.
