I found this at an estate sale and purchased a small box of this and that jewelry from an older lady who said it was just some old stuff..I loved the colors in this little piece. Don't know anything about it but it has a pin and can also be worn as a necklace..any ideas?

This small butterfly pin/pendant has only 800 on the back with no other visible hallmark .
I have done some research and this butterfly is done in a technique called plique a jour. Still searching but have found one other such pin online and it is circa 1910..
Hi! I have a collection of these too! If your 800 mark is accompanied by a mark that looks like long diamond shaped hexagon with letters stamped into it, it is from Italy. The stamp is the region it was made in. They are were made for tourists. I love that yours is a pendant, none of mine are. Sorry I didn't see your post sooner.
