I have posted a few photos to illustrate the glass design "Twisted" Verre Moiré" aka: "Twisted Nailsea" and Clarke's model 212 fairy lamp, c. 1890. The shade on the left clearly shows the glass design. The catalog page in the center illustrates Clarke's model 212 in the same pattern with a matching "floral bowl." The right example illustrates the more common "Nailsea-type" in a common blue color.
These "bowls" were used as fairy lamp bases to hold floral arrangements. Moss was placed in the bottom of the bowl and flowers were inserted into it. Of course, not many modern day fairy lamp collectors use the design in that manner today.
