This poor old girl ,the Emerson 544, was rescued from a yard sale. After some reserch I found it had a photofinish or a picture of a wood grain on it. There was a lot of work I could see to bring it back so I decided to remove the original finish because when I tried to remove the price sticker someone placed on it it did more damage that it did good. So I replaced it with some oak veneer just to give it a little kick. I know a lot of collectors out there shy away from what I did but I like the new look. I also recapped her, put a new dial string inside along with a new bulb and she lives once more. She works great. After several layers of shellac she shines like a gem. Hope everyone likes what I did.
