One of the many old books we have in our collection of books (we have 1st edition and old books) this is where our collections and treasure hunting started....

There are 140 pages and even has old newspaper clippings of recipes and home remedies... Even has some hand written tips and recipes, such as Laxitives! I had to laugh, to see how back in the day, they were very creative. The adds that are in this cook book (news paper clippings) include: Digg's Insect Powder, planting information, Tabler's Rectal Ointment, Dr. T.L. Stephen's Eyelid Salve, How to foretell weather, Seed planting in the United States, and so many more clippings.

The book has seen better days, but the full of old recipes. Anyone know anything more about this old cook book?

Im have trhe same edition. It to has some handwritten reciepes. Fun to read, and how they did things back then. Rub the meat with a clean wet towell? Found mine at a yard sale . It was in a box of books I gave $1.00 for. First one I had seen. More prevalant in the Mid West I believe.
