Princess Peggy was a line of day and house dresses produced starting in 1929 and through the 1950s by Chic Manufacturing Co. of Peoria, Illinois.
Princess Peggy house dress's were made in salesman sample size and they had a mannequin doll commissioned to look just like the face the company used in their labels . These are highly sought after salesman sample dress's which are made in high quality and if you should happen on a wonderful princess Peggy Counter mannequin they all fit her . I just got this pin and as you see her face is embossed on it .The face is from a princess Peggy Counter mannequin and I have posted one of the dress's I have . They were not fancy but house dress's .
All these dress's could be bought in women's sizes at store .
The pin is very small and that is as big as I can scan it to look .

Thank you inky ,bratjdd and Bellin . I appreciate the love and stopping to write such nice comments :-)
I love the dress! When I clicked on this and saw the dress, I smiled because I could see my mother as a young woman in it. To top it off, her name.. PEGGY! I don't know much about vintage clothing and had never heard of a peggy dress. She and dad are both gone, but it's little things like this that can really hit that good old nostalgia nerve that makes you feel like you're 6 years old again. Don't you just love that feeling!? Thanks for showing/sharing and educating me. :-)
Hi China I am glad to hear this post gave you a walk down memory lane :-) Yes our Moms used to wear these dress's to do housework :-) But how special your Moms name was Peggy . Oh you really need one of these dress's . The salesman sample or full size . I like salesman size you can frame it :-) I love strolling down memory lane it brings back some wonderful memories . Thank you for stopping China and come again ok :-)
those gnomes told me to tell you they think shes "purdy"
Very nice post Mani! Your collection must be completely awesome. Just wondering, considering the fact that you are a nurse by profession, you wouldn't happen to have a Resusci Annie, would you? (: Just kidding. I imagine they must be very expensive to come by unless they've been worn out! lol! Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if you did...
Thanks Bruce :-) Well I had to do work on old rescue Annie more times that I care to remember . Mouth to mouth and CPR . As I also was a para medic we had to take refresher coarse in 6 mo. I still can smell her old rubber face . No I don't have one and no I don't ever want to see her again :-) Thanks for stopping and giving some love bruce .

Thank you guy :-)
Thank you Kevin ! :-)
Have this mannequin doll w/o arms and wearing bautiful peggy dress. Had no idea of its history until now, thanks, any idea on value? They are really sweet and love the dresses
Thank you Alice . If your is missing arms that decreases her value quite a bit . The Princess Peggy sells fairly high as well as just the dress . Did you inherit the mannequin ? To bad you can't find arms . Can you send me a photo of her dress so I can see it ? Thanks for stopping by :-) My email is Manikin1234@aol.com .
Thank you birdie :-)
