So happy to have found this-- built in Chichester, NY about 100 years ago. Has little bumps and scratches that show the years of good use and wear, but overall in magnificent shape. William Shwarzwaelder was the owner of a furniture company that operated out of Chichester, NY starting in the late 1800s. He and his descendants ran the factory (and the town, the last "company town" in America) until it went out of business in 1939, and the whole town was auctioned off. My wife and I own a cabin in Chichester that was built by Shwarzwaelder in about 1905, on the factory grounds. (Known then as Arcanum Hall, see profile photo) This beauty will be coming home after a century away.

Curious about the dollar value of an original WM Schwarzwaelder roll top desk (early 1900s) in very good condition. Any ideas?
Another magnificent Willie O. I'm thinking about taking my yrs of hand-made furniture out & burning it!
jmhsf1, I would say in the range of $1500 (which is what I obtained this desk for). Do you have one? Would love to see it!
Congratulations! I know how very much you appreciate the history of your cabin home and I am so very happy for you that the desk made it all they way back to it's original home :)
