OOooooooo.. pretty! I'm drawn to blue like a moth to a flame. *LOL* It LOOKS like it's "cobalt cut to clear" crystal. Off the top of my head, I couldn't tell you how old it may be. Without seeing any markings, it's hard to tell much about the base. A lot are on brass, some on silver.. some on other metals. Look closely for markings on both the glass and the metal. Most 'cut to clear' pieces are Czechoslovakian, but not all. However old it is and where ever it came from, I LOVE IT! If you check around for some pieces, you may find this piece and get a better idea of it's age.
Thanks chinablue! I love it too! Cobalt blue is an amazing color. I didn't see any marks on the base or glass but will try again. Isn't collecting fun??
You're very welcome. Glad I could be a little help. And collecting IS fun... no matter what you collect. If you would like, I have some cobalt to clear cut eggs posted on here. I'm just thinking I'd love to have been at THAT yard sale! *LOL*
Did I have one of my 'moments' earlier? Or did you change your title for this piece? If I did, I apologize for giving you information you already knew. When I see blue, I get a little manic. :-)
50 cents?? Taking you to the next yardsale or estate sale or flea market.
china blue I have those moments all the time. No , I did not change the title.
We have the blues, in a good way!
Hi jimborasco,
50 cents, right! I saw it on a table, thought I would be charged some outrageous price, and she said 50 cents. I spent a total of 75 cents for 2 items at that yard sale.
Made my day.
