This is a WWII German Army belt buckle. Of steel construction. The design consists of two ropes forming a circle. One inside the other. The German Army eagle is placed in the center of the circle and is standing over a swastika. The words "Gott Mit Uns" or "God is With US", are scrolled just above the eagle. Marked J.F.S. as the maker.

Cool! Where did you get it?
Many years ago Abt 1948 I was out hunting and came across this abandined house. I t was totally empty. Outside under some trash and junk I found some german items . I don't remember what all they were . All were weather beaten except for a german belt buckle like the one you show. I was suprised to see Gott mit Uns on it. I picked it up and kept it. I dont remember what happened to it and did not think much of it. If i remember tho It looked lihe it was silver. Were any made of silver?
Kollector, they were made of aluminum, unless an officer would have had one specially cast. Thanks for the look.
Driewer....It was the spoils of war...as i said on some of my other war memorabilia, my father in law was a wwII hero...Bronze Star, Silver Star, double Purple Heart. We are very proud!
