Not sure when I got these, it has been a few years, but they were both black as the night, I do remember that. I didn't know if they were silverplated or sterling, but thought the lines were interesting on them. Obviously, from the photos, not all of the tarnish has been able to be removed. I refuse to use Tarnix, so will just have to retry the polishes again. Anyway, I cannot find out where they are from or who they were made by. They resemble another pair I saw on E-bay, as far as the glass shell inserts, the gold wash interior, the ornate design on the salts, those were French, but I cannot locate any French hallmark similar to what I see on this pair. The hallmarks or maker marks appear on one to look like a clover, 800 and LCC. On the other, the clover is less distinct, the 800 is fine, and the LCC looks more like a CC, so I'm very confused. The glass inserts are in excellent condition, there are some bubbles in the glass, perhaps hand blown? There is a star on the bottom of the glass insert also, which I found interesting. I hope the photos are adequate. Any information as to origin of these would be most helpful, many thanks.

Will do a little looking around. The bubbles in the glass are related to the fact that they are old pieces. Good sign. Also that it is .800 silver since that was used more before 1920's. My first thought would come to german or austrian. Will look into it :). Love a mystery ! Steve

I believe it is a 3 leaf clover with a stem, again, even in person, hard to make out.
