Here I have two pieces of Kralik Pampas ( I think!), both made of the same cobalt blue glass, as you can see from the second picture, in very simple shapes. For the connoisseurs who frequent these pages, perhaps not very exciting.
What I find interesting, however, is how the surface iridescent finish makes them look very different from each other. The thicker finish on the baluster vase makes it look much more amethyst or purple than cobalt. It also results in a much more matte finish.
In real life, I much prefer the other, less purple one, but it is hard to capture it's true glow in the photos. I also prefer the more modern shape of that one - but it has nothing on the modern shape of a piece of green Kralik Pampas I have. Watch this space!
