I didn't find the Gralglas vase in any catalogue, but it has a Gralglas sticker und this stunning, very billiant glass quality. I like the gradient from green to blue. Harri Koskinen designed the Atlas candle holder/vase in the Nineties, I think. It exists in different colors. I like also the Loistava candle holders he designed for Marimekko.

Both of them are amazing but you know I have a weakness for Koskinen's work :) Is this one of the new Atlas or is one of the original ones? I think that both white and red are the two only colours repeated in the two different editions...

Thank you to all of you. @austrohungaro. I didn't even know that there are different series. Can you tell me about the differences? Do they concern only the colors or also the shape? Mine is not new, so I think it's from the first edition.

Well, Atlas came out in the market for the first time in 1996/1997. As far as I know the colours it came in were blue, deep green, light green (the one I've got http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/47095-atlas-candleholder-harri-koskinen-iitt?in=user), white and red (http://www.deconet.com/blog/home/tags/harri). They reedited them around 2010 in clear, red, black and white (http://www.designblog.fi/atlas-kynttilanjalka/). Unfortunately I haven't got one from the second series so I cannot tell the differences between the two editions, but I am guessing it's just the different colours.

Was I a "glass manufacturer" and had I reedited an item in the same colour, I would have certainly done it using a different shade of that colour but... cannot tell for Iittala.

If it's not a new one... then congratulations on this amazing find!

I got an old ATLAS in blue (a beauty!) and it's got the "i" sticker on the top, so I guess it's the main difference between the old and new editions. Also, looking at pictures online, I think the difference between the two red ATLAS is in the colour. The old one seems to have a more orange-ish red, and a sort of more transparent glass... the red in the new one seems darker and more uniform...

I should upload the pictures of my new blue Atlas and the yellow Loistava soon!
