Probably not a correct item for games, but I didn't know of a better category.
This is a late 1800's Liquid Pistol (water pistol)
The right side is marked M & L.
This toy advertisement I found is the closest thing I have been able to match it with.
45
WATER PISTOL
Made of pewter stock, attached to a heavy rubber bulb. Shoots a stream of water a long distance.
3 3/4 in. long
Packed 1 doz. to a box,
5 grs. to a case
Anyone know the maker and correct date?
Thanks for looking,
Dave
ps.
played a lot of war games with water pistols as a kid, so I placed it under games.

Surely that's not the orig. douche bag(correction: squeeze-bag)? But where would u find such a close replacement.

How many shots per "D" bag?
Blunderbuss2,
Probably not many and the "long distance" in the advertisement, is probably a very short distance.
Anyway, I haven't tried it in fear of cracking the rubber bulb.

Very neat toy! Hey Dave, would a cracked rubber bulb be considered a "back fire"? (: Nice post...
If you live in California, you might want to check the laws. Your "D" bag might be too large & allowing to many shots. OK, I'll leave it alone now, or try to.
Dave, you have the pistol & gave us the ammunition for jokes!
Thanks Bruce99 for the appreciation.
Backfire, Blowhole, etc.
blunderbuss2, if California law makers had anything to do with it, you wouldn't even be able to own the "water" to put in it.
Keep the jokes coming!
Dave
OK Dave. Would a visitor find it hanging in the shower?
Dave,
Do not get caught at the airport, it is clearly a weapon of mass-destruction.
blunderbuss2,
It could very well be!
thisoldwatch,
I'm sure it would. A few years ago, I was checking into the airport, wearing a vest with a pocket watch and one of my 2mm pinfire pistol watch fobs and was told it had to go in my check-in luggage or I could not board. A lot of damage I could do with that!

Kevin,
Since that incident with the TSA & my 2mm pinfire watch fob, I grounded myself, I only fly when there is absolutely no other option.
Dave
Jason, I think a lot of people know by now that they often steal things they want personally under "color of law".
Thanks Hedgewalker & electobacco for the appreciation.

I had the same thing done with my Gerber which airline personel was carrying it to give to the pilot till we landed. Cop stopped her & stole it. His eyes showed me that he wanted it for him self. That was about 30 yrs ago & I had declared it at the counter. What you saw auctioned was what they didn't want themselves.
We aren't going to go tangent again like what happened on the dagger r we?
