This set of includes a mother and her three children. I was told they were African and very old. I cannot make out the material, but definately handmade. Previously owned by family that came over on the Mayflower and that is all I know. Please help me to identify.

These are native american dolls, representing the Seminole tribe from Florida. Made of palmetto fiber husk and cloth.

I love your site national. I have never seen a site dedicated to these dolls. You need to do a book on these dolls. It's such a vast subject as these dolls have been around forever, but not usually collected on such a scale! You really should think about it! Doll books in general only touch on these dolls.
Oh yes, I do want to do a book! I have been thinking about that for a long time now but have not yet started. It certainly is something I would like to realize.
